Wat Pho is one of the largest and oldest (16th century) temples in Bangkok classed as the highest grade royal temple. It houses a school of Thai medicine. It is well-known as the home of Thailand's largest Reclining Buddha statue. There are over ninety Chedis (Buddhist stupas) in the temple, three of which are depicted in the painting.
